00:13 You know what? It is amazing for me to take Time Magazine in one hand or USA today in one hand and take scripture in the other hand and see the two saying exactly the same thing. And the writer of Time and Newsweek and USA today has no clue that all they're doing is writing about what scripture says over and over again. It's the favorite subject in scripture. I understand it's been talked about in scripture more than anything else on earth. And it's the coming of the Son of Man. The second coming of Jesus. Listen to Luke chapter 21 verse 27 and 28 and then down to verse 36 and Jesus said this "Then" and he's talking about after all these things that I'm going to share with you in a minute, "then they will see the son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads because your redemption is drawing near." And then he says in verse 36, "but keep on the alert at all times praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place and stand before the Son of Man."
01:21 You know what? It takes hours to talk through the second coming of Christ and all the prophecies that predict His coming. But I'll tell you folks, I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back today. Would not be surprised at all. You know, he talks about an earth that's going to be full of earthquakes. He talks about an earth that's going to be shattered by Wars and rumors of Wars. He talks about the day when the gospel of the kingdom of Jesus is going to be preached to the whole world. He talks about a day when people are going to be falling away from the faith because of sorcery and witchcraft and seances and Satan worshiping, palm reading and works of darkness. He talks about a day when the airways will be filled with music about supernatural things and there's about 35 or 40 other prophecies that he talks about. But it all boils down to the day that he says, you know what? I came once. I was crucified. I was resurrected. But lift up your heads because I'm coming back again.
02:27 And I know from coming home to my kids after long trips on the road, the joy that was in my home when daddy came home. Y'all, I would bring them treats, I bring them surprises. When I travel for a week or two, man, between my professional life, I'd go shopping, you know. I'd go buy stuff. I go buy stuff for Debbie Jo. And I bought stuff for the kids. Because when I came home and I want it be a party. I want it to be a celebration. And I believe Jesus wants the exact same thing. And so he says you know in 1 Thessalonians chapter 40, he says, "for the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout." And I believe that shout is going to be a personal invitation. If you're a true believer, it's going to be an invitation to you. With a trumpet of God, he said, the dead in Christ will rise first and we who are alive and remain will be caught up, raptured, caught up together to meet them in the clouds. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
03:26 And then he says in that passage, therefore comfort one another with these words, daddy's coming home. Daddy's coming home. It may be today, it may be tomorrow. It may be a hundred years, but daddy's coming home. So lift up your heads because your redemption is drawing near. Here's my question for you today. Do you have fear or do you have joy about the end times and the second coming of Christ? And then the last question to take it home is this, what do you need to do? What do you need to do today? So that if you're positive, he's coming back today, you'll have nothing but fear. I mean nothing but joy, your life, and you'll be looking for him. Just, you know, like the best dad that could possibly ever think of. He's coming home to bring you all, but all the young surprising gifts that you can ever imagine.
