00:14 Hey, today's Bible study comes from John Chapter 13 Verse 21 through 26 and it says this, "After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, 'I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me.' His disciples stared at one another at a loss to know which of them he meant. One of them, the disciple that Jesus loved was reclining next to him, Simon Peter motioned to his disciples and said, 'Ask him which one he means.' Leaning back against Jesus he asked him, 'Lord, who is it?' Jesus answered, 'It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.' Then dipping the piece of bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon.

01:05 There's an old joke that's told about a guy who went to the doctor in great pain and the doctor said to the man, "Where do you hurt?" To which the man replied, "Doctor, I hurt everywhere. I hurt all over." And the doctor said, "show me where you hurt." And the man places his right fourth finger against his head. And he said, "Doctor, every time I touch my head I hurt." And he touched his chest. He said, "Doctor, every time I touch my chest I hurt." And he touched his knees and said, "Every time I touch my knee, I hurt. I hurt bad." He touched his nose. He said, "Every time I touch my nose, my nose hurts." The doctor took the man's hand and said, "Hey, let me examine your finger." And you know, one close look was all it took. And the doctor said, "Dude, you're crazy.

01:44 You've got a broken finger." So much for jokes. But, but isn't it true how sin is exactly like a broken finger. Everything you touch hurts. If you make money, you're greedy. If you make a friendship or you're going to date the relationship turned sour. If you succeed or you get a compliment, you get the big head. You know the surface problem worries you and you can't figure it out until someone points out your broken finger. You know, the sin in your heart been there way too many times. Um, let me ask you some questions. Um, what are some ways that we betray Jesus? You know, what's your broken finger? and, and how his betrayal as sin? And, and then this question, what was the root of Judas' sin? What was Judas' broken finger? And then lastly, and why is sin a direct assault to God? And here's the lifeline for the day.
